A note from our founder

This is truly a *pinch me* moment — and a good reminder that when creative people collide, they can inspire more together than the sum of each of their parts. And this feature is a full circle moment in just that.

I “met” Lauren Ashley Allan online in the heart of the pandemic… it was early fall of 2020, and I had caught the “entrepreneur bug”. After gaining a quick following on TikTok, I decided to launch a little mask chain business online. My new side-hustle, hand-making hundreds of mask chains out of my tiny New York City apartment was a creative outlet as I studied for the GMAT — a pursuit of my dream to return to business school and build Rodeo.

One day I got an order for 2 mask chains (nothing out of the ordinary), but in the post-purchase survey Lauren shared that she had found me (and my mask chain business) on Instagram and she was excited to support my journey as an entrepreneur. Naturally, I looked her up, and came across one of her iconic videos, sketching a fashion or interiors illustration with statement bracelets and rings adorned. I think that was the most memorable sale in the existence of the lindsayrustperper.com mask chain business.

Lauren’s Instagram shared a story of a female entrepreneur that created a path for herself as a leader in interior design and architecture. Her authentic creativity was like nothing I had seen online — nothing anyone could repeat. I was on a similar path to becoming an entrepreneur myself. It was my dream to build Rodeo for people like Lauren Ashley Allan — people with real influence that stems from creativity and passion.

And today it’s my honor to spotlight Lauren Ashley Allan in Rodeo’s CoolPpl CoolSht feature — a woman who embodies cool ppl / cool sht to the core. As the founder of Lauren Ashley Allan LLC, an interior design and architecture firm, her spaces tell stories and create real connections.
